'DC' review: Arun Matheswaran's film is an aggressive mishmash
A movie reviewer watched a new film called DC.
The film was made by a director named Arun Matheswaran.
It is about two people named Das and Chandra.
They are like outlaws running away from the law together.
They dream of one day living a calm, normal family life.
Das feels sad about his bad relationship with his father.
The movie shows a poster of Bonnie and Clyde, two famous outlaws.
It also shows an old movie called Moondram Pirai playing on a television.
The reviewer thinks the film tries to do too many things at once.
He says the characters are only shown as all good or all bad, with nothing in between.
Arun Matheswaran's film 'DC' is described by the review as an aggressive mishmash.
Das and Chandra form an outlaw pair on the run, recalling Bonnie and Clyde.
The couple dreams of a peaceful family life while Das carries regret over his troubled relationship with his father.
The film nods to Moondram Pirai, which plays on a television, and features a Bonnie and Clyde poster in Chandra's room.
The reviewer criticizes the film's black-and-white portrayal with no middle ground, saying its attempt to humanize a cop feels unwieldy.
