Slack Launches Collaborative Code Channels For Teams And AI
Slack has created special online rooms called code channels.
Teams can use these rooms to build software with AI helpers.
People do not have to switch between as many different tools or conversations.
The channels let users compare coding changes and preview webpages before releasing them.
A channel can close itself when its assigned work is finished.
Slack also keeps an audit log showing what happened.
The feature works with several AI agents available through Slack’s marketplace.
Slack says this reflects a broader move toward people and AI working together on complex tasks.
Slack introduced Slack Code, dedicated project-specific channels for teams working with AI coding agents.
The channels include user tabs, coding-change comparisons, and HTML previews before projects are shipped.
Completed channels can automatically archive while retaining an audit log for record-keeping.
Slack Code is available across all Slack plans and supports agents from Slack’s marketplace.
Founding partners named by Slack include Claude Code, Devin, Vercel Agent, and GitHub Copilot.
