Karnataka BJP Announces 10-Day Padayatra Over SC/ST Demands
The Bharatiya Janata Party plans to hold a 10-day march in Karnataka.
It will begin on September 1.
The party says it has 10 demands for the state government.
One demand concerns the resignation of B. Nagendra, who stepped down as a minister after allegations about financial irregularities.
The BJP also says money meant for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe welfare was used for other purposes.
It says this amount was Rs 53,000 crore.
Another demand is to increase Scheduled Tribe reservation in Karnataka from 7 percent to 17 percent.
The march will start in Lingsugur and finish in Ballari city.
