Hyderabad Authority Reassures Residents on Old Homes Amidst FTL Concerns
Imagine some people in Hyderabad live in houses that have been there for a very long time, like over 30 years.
Recently, city officials put scary marks on their homes, saying they were too close to a lake.
This made the people very worried they would lose their homes.
But a higher-up official, the HYDRAA commissioner, came to see for himself.
He got upset at the officials who caused the worry.
He told everyone that the old houses would be safe and wouldn't be touched.
He also promised that the lake's edges would be protected the way they were planned many years ago, not by the new, confusing marks.
All the scary marks were then taken off the houses.
HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath inspected Boduppalkunta following resident complaints about homes being marked within a lake's Full Tank Level (FTL).
Residents stated their homes, some over 30 years old, were marked by officials who claimed they were within the lake's boundary.
Residents alleged that FTL boundaries were shifted and old roads were incorrectly marked as being inside the FTL, disregarding the 2014 draft notification.
Commissioner Ranganath assured residents that houses built before July 19, 2024, would not be affected and ordered the removal of all markings.
The HYDRAA commissioner clarified that the lake's boundaries would adhere strictly to the 2014 draft notification, not altered markings by local officials.
