Woman Wins Case, Name Restored to Ration Card
A woman was wrongly removed from her family's food card during her divorce.
Her husband asked for the card to be changed, and the officials agreed.
The woman complained, and after a long process, the government agreed she was right.
Now, her name will be put back on the card.
The government will also discipline the officials who made the mistake.
It was decided that just because someone is divorcing doesn't mean they should lose their food card.
Woman's name was removed from ration card without her consent.
Her husband requested the transfer of the card's ownership during divorce proceedings.
The taluk supply officer approved the transfer in February 2023.
The State Food Commission directed the woman's name be added back to the card.
The Commission also ordered departmental action against responsible officials.
