Mark Zuckerberg Predicts More Jobs Even as AI Transforms Workplaces
Mark Zuckerberg is the boss of Meta, the company that owns Facebook.
He wrote a very long letter, about 6,500 words, about artificial intelligence, or AI for short.
AI is a kind of computer brain that can do jobs people usually do.
Many people are scared that AI will take away people's jobs.
But Zuckerberg says there will still be plenty of jobs in the future.
He thinks companies might get smaller, but that doesn't mean fewer jobs overall.
He believes small businesses will stay important and could become much more powerful using helpful AI tools called superintelligence agents.
Another boss named Dario Amodei, who leads a company called Anthropic, disagrees.
He thinks AI could take away half of the office jobs that new workers usually get, like reviewing documents at law firms.
He says bosses might use AI to save money and hire fewer people.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg published a 6,500-word manifesto titled 'The Future Is for Everyone: The Path to a Positive AI Future' on Meta's website on August 10.
Zuckerberg argued that AI will not eliminate jobs and that shrinking company sizes will not mean fewer jobs overall.
He predicted small numbers of people with personal superintelligence agents will run companies at significant scale, with small businesses remaining the backbone of the economy.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei warned AI could eliminate half of entry-level white-collar jobs within five years, citing law, consulting, administration and finance.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has also warned of an impending job apocalypse, while Amodei said CEOs may use AI to cut costs and employ fewer people.
