Trivandrum Abattoir Operations to be Outsourced to Private Firm
The city of Trivandrum is going to have a new slaughterhouse where meat will be prepared in a clean and scientific way.
The city government is hiring a private company to run the slaughterhouse.
They are asking companies to bid on a contract, and the trial run is starting soon.
The new slaughterhouse can handle a lot of animals each day.
It also has special systems to manage waste, like a biogas plant to turn animal waste into energy and a treatment plant to clean water.
This is all to make sure the meat is safe and the environment is protected.
Trivandrum city corporation plans to outsource the operation and maintenance of the new slaughterhouse.
An e-tender has been floated, with the opening scheduled for Saturday.
The abattoir's trial run is expected to begin on Friday.
The facility will have a slaughtering capacity of 50-75 large and 25-50 small animals daily.
The abattoir includes a biogas plant and effluent treatment to handle waste.
