Cyberabad Plans Metro Corridor Study to Fix Last-Mile Gaps

Cyberabad Plans Metro Corridor Study to Fix Last-Mile Gaps

Cyberabad wants to understand why people do not easily reach Metro stations.

It will study an 8.5-kilometre Metro corridor.

Officials will look for missing sidewalks, unsafe crossings and crowded roads.

They will also check whether enough feeder autos connect homes, schools and offices to stations.

School buses, vans and parents’ cars will be studied because they can create traffic jams.

A survey near Cyber Towers found many more people riding alone than riding two to a vehicle.

Officials hope better walking routes and shared transport will reduce private-vehicle use.

The plan may include special pickup areas, car-pooling and e-autos.
