Rahul Gandhi Says Education System Fears Questioning Students
Rahul Gandhi spoke to students at an event in Indore.
He said students should be able to ask questions about schools, colleges, exams and jobs.
He argued that the system prefers people who follow without questioning.
Gandhi said education is a right, not a luxury or favor.
He blamed privatization and low government spending for some problems in education.
Students raised concerns about delayed appointments, exam irregularities, scholarships and hostels.
Gandhi also discussed vacant teacher positions and alleged paper leaks.
He showed a video about the Satya Niketan building collapse and met the family of a student who died there.
Rahul Gandhi alleged at an Indore outreach event that the system discourages students from asking questions and instead promotes “andhbhakts,” or blind followers.
He accused politicians, bureaucrats and business interests of influencing educational institutions and said privatization was damaging public education.
Gandhi cited claims including vacant teacher posts, withheld government appointments, scholarship losses, inadequate hostels and examination irregularities.
He said education’s share of the Union Budget had fallen from 4.6% to 2.6%, while claiming 55% of government schools in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh had closed.
The event included student complaints about recruitment delays, OBC-quota litigation, alleged MPPSC irregularities, hostels and tribal-student facilities.
