The CW Drops Miss USA and Teen Pageants Before Broadcast
The CW planned to show the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA competitions on television.
A few days before the broadcasts, the network decided not to show them.
The CW did not give a detailed reason.
The pageant organization said there was a contract problem involving the event’s production.
The two sides could not agree on terms in time.
The competitions are still expected to happen.
Viewers can watch them online through the Queen Beauty Network.
The pageants have also faced other controversies in recent years.
The CW canceled its planned broadcasts of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA less than a week before they were scheduled to air.
The network cited conversations with the Miss USA Organization but did not publicly explain the specific reason for dropping the events.
