Bangladesh Elections Scheduled for April 2026 Amidst Political Tensions

Bangladesh is planning to have its next election in April 2026, according to the current leader, Muhammad Yunus.

This is happening after a period of protests that led to the previous government's removal.

Some political parties, like the BNP, want elections sooner, by December 2025.

The government says they need more time to make sure the election is fair and that changes, such as reforms and dealing with past crimes, can be done first.

The timing is a bit of a problem because teachers are busy with exams and the weather is stormy around April.

The delay is causing tension.
