Kerala Corporation Probes Office Lease Irregularities Amid Political Row

Kerala Corporation Probes Office Lease Irregularities Amid Political Row

In Kerala, there's a big argument about an office space in Thiruvananthapuram.

A local MLA, V.K. Prasanth, is using an office in a building owned by the city government.

A former police chief, now a councillor, R. Sreelakha, wants him to leave.

The new BJP-led city government is investigating because they think the previous government, led by CPI-M, gave away many buildings unfairly.

Some of these buildings were rented for very low prices but then sublet for much higher amounts.

The Mayor says they will check all the rental agreements to make sure everything is fair.

Another former legislator, K.S. Sabarinathan, suggests that Prasanth should use the free MLA Hostel instead of the disputed office.
