Flight Bookings Top Credit Card Rewards in 2025
In 2025, people in India started using their credit card reward points mostly for booking flights and transferring airline miles.
This is the first time that flight bookings have become more popular than getting cashback.
About one-third of all reward points were used for travel, and people spent ₹850 crore on travel using these points.
People also earned more rewards for spending on travel than on other things.
The cities of Pune, Bengaluru, and Gurugram were the best at using these rewards, but smaller cities like Ranchi, Jaipur, and Hyderabad improved the fastest.
Overall, people are using their credit card rewards more smartly, especially for travel.
Flight bookings and airline mile transfers became the most preferred use of credit card reward points in India in 2025, overtaking cashback.

Users earned an average reward value of 15.6% for every ₹100 spent on travel bookings, the highest among all spending categories.
