Zuckerberg Writes AI Optimist Manifesto as EU Act Bites

Mark Zuckerberg is the boss of a big technology company called Meta.

He wrote a very long letter, called a manifesto, saying he believes artificial intelligence, or AI, is a good thing for people.

He said AI will not take away people's jobs and should be shared openly.

Some other technology bosses also wrote letters saying similar good things about AI.

At the same time, a group of many countries called the European Union made a new rule about AI.

The rule says that when a computer makes a picture, a story, or a video, people must be told that a computer made it.

It also says that chatbots, which are computer programs you can talk to, must tell you that they are not a real person.

Because of this new rule, a company called Anthropic decided to add a special invisible mark, called a watermark, to everything its AI creates.

The mark stays with the text, so people can always find out it was made by a computer.

Some people still worry about AI and want even more rules to keep it safe.
