IIT Bombay's Daksha Satellites to Study Cosmic Events
Scientists at IIT Bombay are building two satellites called Daksha.
These satellites will look at space to study powerful explosions like exploding stars and bursts of energy.
Daksha will also study the sun's flares and lightning in the upper atmosphere.
The satellites will have special equipment that can see things that are billions of light-years away, with a wider view than other telescopes.
This mission will give scientists new tools to understand the universe.
The project is waiting for approval from ISRO and the Indian government.
IIT Bombay is developing the Daksha satellites.
Daksha will study cosmic events such as exploding stars and gamma-ray bursts.
The project started in 2018 with seed funding.
Each satellite will carry a 150kg science payload.
ISRO is providing satellite structure components.
