BWF Introduces 25-Second Time Clock Trial
The Badminton World Federation is testing a new rule where players have 25 seconds to get ready after each rally.
This rule will be used in the Indonesia Masters tournament.
Players must be in position and ready to serve or receive within this time.
A clock will count down the time, and players must watch it themselves.
If players take too long, they might get a warning or even a red card.
The rule aims to make games faster and fairer.
Players can still talk to their coaches, drink water, or fix their equipment during this time, but they must be ready when the time is up.
The clock can be stopped for things like injuries or disputes.
BWF introduces a 25-second Time Clock system for the Indonesia Masters.
Players must be ready to serve or receive within 25 seconds after a rally.
A visible countdown clock will be placed beside the court.
Penalties for undue delay range from warnings to yellow or red cards.
The system aims to make matches faster, more consistent, and address player complaints about umpire judgment.
