Kremlin Insists UK & France Must Join Nuclear Talks
Russia wants to continue talks with the U.S. on limiting their nuclear weapons.
They have suggested continuing the current limits from an agreement called New START for another year.
Russia now believes that the UK and France, also with nuclear weapons, need to be included in these talks at some point.
The U.S. is currently considering this proposal.
The goal is to reduce the number of nuclear weapons for global safety.
Russia says the UK and France arsenals must be included in any future nuclear arms control deals.
Discussions on reducing strategic nuclear weapons must first involve Russia and the U.S.
Russia proposed maintaining New START limits voluntarily for one year.
The White House says that Vladimir Putin's proposal sounds "pretty good".
