Hyderabad Native Linked to Bondi Beach Shooting
A man from Hyderabad, India, named Sajid Akram, and his Australian son, Naveed, are suspected of a terrible shooting at a celebration in Sydney, Australia.
Sajid moved to Australia 27 years ago and had little contact with his family in India.
The shooting happened during a Jewish festival called Hanukkah and killed 15 people, including a child, and hurt many others.
The Australian government says it was a terrorist attack.
Sajid was killed by police, and Naveed is in the hospital.
Investigators are trying to find out more about what happened and why.
The family in India says they didn't know about any radical beliefs.
Sajid Akram, originally from Hyderabad, migrated to Australia in 1998 and had limited contact with his Indian family.
He and his son Naveed are suspected of a mass shooting at a Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach, Sydney, killing 15 and injuring 40.
Australian authorities allege ISIS inspiration, but Indian police say no local radicalization links exist.
Sajid was killed by police, and Naveed is critically injured; investigations are ongoing with international cooperation.
Three Indian students were among the injured, with two receiving hospital treatment.
