J&K reviews rejected forest rights claims, warns officials of violations

There is a special law called the Forest Rights Act.

It helps people who live in forests get rights to their land.

Some of these people live in a place called Jammu & Kashmir.

The forest department sent them letters saying they might have to leave.

This made many forest dwellers worried.

A minister named Javed Rana said that should not happen.

He ordered officials to check every rejected request again.

If a person truly qualifies, they should get their rights.

No one should be forced to leave without getting a fair chance to explain their case.

Officials who break the rules could face serious punishment.
