Himachal Haat to Empower Rural Women SHGs and Promote Local Products
In Himachal Pradesh, leaders are building a new market called 'Himachal Haat' in Shimla.
This special market will be like a big store where people can buy real Himachali crafts, food, and other local items.
It's being built to help women in villages, especially those in groups called SHGs, sell their creations.
This will help them earn more money and feel more independent.
The market will have about 24 shops for these groups.
The Chief Minister mentioned that these women have already earned a good amount of money from selling their products, and he wants to help them earn even more.
They are also giving food vans to some groups to help them make money.
This Haat is part of a bigger plan to make the state stronger and help people who live in the villages.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for 'Himachal Haat' in Shimla.
The Rs. 2 crore project will feature 24-25 shops to showcase authentic Himachali products, empowering rural entrepreneurs and women Self Help Groups (SHGs).
Himachal Haat aims to promote the income, identity, and self-reliance of rural artisans and SHGs under the HIMIRA brand.
The market will house rural art, craft, handloom, handicraft, food processing products, and traditional Himachali cuisines.
The government is also supporting SHGs with food vans, contributing to their monthly earnings, and plans to distribute more.
