Chennai Transforms Landfill Waste into Usable Products
In Chennai, India, a big trash mountain was cleaned up!
They used a special method called biomining to sort and clean the waste.
They turned the trash into useful things like bottles, furniture, and concrete.
This helps clean up the city, makes the air better, and shows that trash can be turned into something good.
It's like a big cleanup and recycling project!
Perungudi dumpyard in Chennai was transformed from a waste site into a usable area.
Over 1.7 million cubic meters of waste was cleared from a 96-acre area.
Waste was processed, recycled, and repurposed into materials like steel utensils, glass bottles, and plastic furniture.
Blue Planet Environmental Solutions uses a 'Made-in-India' biomining process to safely and sustainably reclaim land.
The project aims to address India's growing waste challenge by viewing waste as a resource.
