India Plans Cabinet Approval for Four Textile Schemes Soon

India Plans Cabinet Approval for Four Textile Schemes Soon

The Indian government is preparing several new plans to help the textile industry grow.

The Union Cabinet may approve most of the plans within the next one or two months.

The plans are part of a programme announced in the 2026-27 Budget.

They are designed to improve fibres, textile factories, environmental sustainability and worker training.

The government also wants India to make more industrial sewing machines at home.

A Taiwanese company is expected to open a production facility near Coimbatore.

Officials say credit for textile businesses has begun to improve gradually.

India hopes its textile industry will become much larger in the coming decades.
