One Dead, Four Seriously Injured in Satara Head-On Crash
A car called an Ertiga and another car called an Innova crashed into each other near Dahivadi.
The crash happened around 2 p.m.
on Friday.
One man, Rehman Sheikh, died at the scene.
Four other people were badly hurt.
Local residents helped take the injured people out of the damaged cars.
They brought them to a government hospital in Dahivadi.
Police came to inspect the crash site and collect information.
Investigators are still trying to determine exactly what caused the collision.
An Ertiga and an Innova collided head-on near the Lonar Baba Temple in Vadgaon, Satara district, around 2 p.m. Friday.
Rehman Sheikh, 30, of Mogarale, died at the scene while traveling in the Ertiga.
Four people suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Government Rural Hospital in Dahivadi.
The injured were identified as Sonali Shingade, Ankita Shingade, Payal Shingade and Tukaram Jagdale; Ankita Shingade is reportedly pregnant.
Dahivadi police conducted a spot panchnama and are investigating the vehicles’ speed and how the drivers lost control.
