Banks Open October 3 After Gandhi Jayanti Holiday

Banks Open October 3 After Gandhi Jayanti Holiday

Banks across India will close on Friday, October 2, 2026, for Gandhi Jayanti.

This is a national holiday.

Most banks usually close on the second and fourth Saturdays.

They usually open on the first, third and fifth Saturdays.

Because October 3 is the first Saturday, bank branches are expected to open that day.

Some branches will close later in October for regional festivals.

People can still use online banking, cards and UPI while branches are closed.

Stock markets and commodity exchanges will also be closed on October 2.

Transactions made on Thursday will be settled on Monday, October 5, under the T+1 system.
