NFR to Establish Integrated Garbage Treatment System with IIT Support
Northeast Frontier Railway is creating a new system to manage trash in a smarter, more eco-friendly way.
They will implement this at their headquarters and nearby railway areas.
IIT-Guwahati, a technical institute, is helping with the planning by studying how to collect, sort, and get rid of trash properly.
The plan involves separating waste, turning some into compost, and recycling.
They'll create a detailed plan with costs and timelines, following government guidelines to make the railway areas cleaner and better for the environment.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is implementing an Integrated Garbage Treatment System (IGTS).
The system will be implemented at NFR headquarters in Maligaon and Pandu Railway Colonies.
IIT-Guwahati is providing technical consultancy and conducting field studies for the project.
A Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared after the field survey.
The IGTS will follow Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines focusing on segregation, composting, and recycling.
