Uttar Pradesh to Modernize Tubewells for Farmers
Imagine the government is fixing up and making the water systems better for farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
They're changing about 1,750 water pumps to be nice to the environment.
This will help around 250,000 farming families.
The government is also going to plant trees around the pumps.
This will help farmers water their fields more easily, covering an extra 175,000 hectares.
They are also building new small canals, using special solar power so they can save energy and do what’s best for the environment.
The government hopes to help farmers with these modern, green changes by making their costs lower and their lives easier.
The Uttar Pradesh government plans to reconstruct 1,750 tubewells.
These tubewells will be converted into eco-friendly units.
Approximately 2.5 lakh farmer families will benefit from the project.
The project aims to increase irrigation capacity by 1.75 lakh hectares.
The government will also develop plantations around the tubewells and utilize solar-powered systems.
