Patna Establishes Control Room for Monsoon Waterlogging
Imagine a special room set up to watch out for flooding in Patna during the rainy season.
This room, run by BUIDCO, will use cameras to keep an eye on where water is collecting.
People will be working around the clock, in shifts, to watch the cameras and make sure water is pumped away quickly.
They will be monitoring the city's pumping stations.
If the water gets too high, alarms will sound to start all the pumps.
The goal is to help prevent problems during heavy rains.
BUIDCO established a control room at the ICCC to monitor waterlogging in Patna.
The control room, operational from June 1-30, will use 16 CCTV cameras.
It will operate 24/7 with personnel on three shifts.
Nine pumping stations citywide will have their water levels monitored in real-time.
If water levels reach 10 feet, an alarm will trigger all pumping stations.
