Gujarat: Almost Half of Pharma MoUs from VGGS 2024 Commissioned
The government of Gujarat announced that almost half of the pharmaceutical investment deals made during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in January 2024 have started.
These deals, or MoUs, involved a total investment of over Rs 11,114 crore and are expected to create jobs for more than 20,000 people.
Several companies, including those from Spain, the US, and Japan, have already started their projects.
Gujarat is a major player in India's pharmaceutical industry, accounting for about a third of the country's production and a significant share of exports worldwide.
This shows that the government is working with companies to boost the pharmaceutical sector.
47% of pharmaceutical MoUs from VGGS 2024 have been commissioned.
These MoUs represent approximately Rs 11,114.13 crore in investment.
The projects are expected to create 20,141 jobs.
Foreign companies like Senador Laboratories and Amneal Pharmaceutical are among those investing.
