Villagers Protest With Empty Pots Over Drinking Water Shortage

People in Yadav Kudiyirupu village say they do not have enough drinking water.

They protested by carrying empty pots.

The villagers are currently buying water from a private person.

Each pot costs Rs 15.

They say they have asked several government officials for help for five years.

They are waiting for action on a joint drinking water project involving Cauvery and Karur.

The villagers warned that they may leave the village if water is not supplied properly.

They said they could give their ration cards and voter IDs to the authorities.
