PM Albanese Hosts Teams Before Final Ashes Test
On January 1, 2026, the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and his wife hosted the Australian and England cricket teams at their house in Sydney.
They had a nice party with food and drinks.
The Prime Minister joked that he hopes the upcoming cricket match will last until the third day because it's a special day for raising money to help people with breast cancer.
This special day is called Jane McGrath Day, named after a woman who fought breast cancer.
The Prime Minister also said he hopes there will be a lot of people watching the match to support this cause.
Australian PM Anthony Albanese hosted Team Australia and England at Kirribilli House on January 1, 2026.
The event was a 90-minute reception with oysters, tuna tartare, prawns, juices, and sparkling water.
Albanese joked about the importance of the Test reaching Day 3, which is Jane McGrath Day for breast cancer awareness.
The Prime Minister shared a picture with the Australian team, expressing support for the McGrath Foundation.
Australia has already sealed the Ashes series, making the final Test less decisive but still significant for the cause.
