Pune Metro Rides Increase by 24% in July
The Pune Metro saw a big jump in the number of people riding it in July.
More people are using the metro compared to the months before, and June also had a boost in riders.
One reason could be the monsoon, as people might be using the metro instead of their bikes.
The metro is also working to connect with other ways of getting around.
Even though more people are riding the metro, the actual number of riders is still much lower than what was originally planned.
Pune Metro saw a 24% increase in average daily rides in July compared to the previous 10 months.
The average daily rides rose to 192,204 in July, up from 154,652 between September 2024 and June 2025.
June also showed an increase, with 174,702 average daily rides.
The Aqua Line (Vanaz-Ramwadi) had over 1.08 lakh average daily rides in June, more than the Purple Line.
Authorities suggest monsoon season and increased multimodal integration are contributing factors.
