Rupee falls 7 paise against dollar
The Indian rupee became a little weaker against the US dollar on Friday.
It fell by 7 paise to 89.97.
This happened because oil prices went up worldwide, and foreign investors took out money from Indian stocks.
The central bank, RBI, had helped the rupee a bit the day before, but it couldn't stop the fall completely.
The dollar also got a bit stronger, and the Indian stock markets weren't doing well either.
The stock markets in India also opened lower because of worries about new US tariffs and money being taken out by foreign investors.
Some experts think the markets will stay careful, while others think the overall trend is still good.
The rupee fell 7 paise to 89.97 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday due to sustained FII outflows and a rise in global crude oil prices.
The rupee had settled 3 paise lower at 89.90 against the US dollar on Thursday, amid sustained outflow of foreign funds and a stronger greenback.
The Sensex and Nifty declined on Friday amid profit booking, rising geopolitical tensions, and muted sentiment from Asian markets.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold net equities worth ₹3,367.12 crore on Thursday, according to exchange data.
Market experts noted pressure across Asian markets due to fresh threats of 500% US tariffs and continued FPI outflows.
