Four Arrested in BJP Worker Bapi Pramanik Murder

Bapi Pramanik, a worker for the Bharatiya Janata Party, was killed in Baruipur, West Bengal.

Police arrested four people in connection with his death.

One accused, Sujan Mondal, was a former local BJP leader who had been suspended or expelled.

Police suspect that two groups within the local BJP were fighting over control of a Durga Puja committee.

Pramanik’s family said someone called him outside his home.

They said he was beaten and then attacked with a sharp weapon.

BJP leaders instead accused criminals linked to the Trinamool Congress.

Police are still trying to determine exactly what happened and what each accused person did.
