Blood Shortage Hits Hamidia Hospital; JUDA Steps Up Donation Drive

A hospital in Bhopal, India, has run out of enough blood to help its patients.

Blood is the liquid that carries oxygen around our bodies, and some sick people need extra blood from donors.

The hospital helps children who have illnesses like thalassaemia and sickle cell disease.

When it rains a lot, from July to August, blood donation camps do not happen.

That is why the hospital has less blood during this time.

Doctors and nurses at the hospital are giving their own blood to help.

The hospital has also asked people and organisations to come forward and donate.

Every day, about 100 patients at the hospital need blood.

Some children need a special kind of blood that has had white blood cells taken out.

Donating blood can help save the lives of these children.
