SSC Changes Scribe Policy for PwD Candidates in Exams
The SSC, which conducts exams for government jobs, has changed a rule for people with disabilities (PwD).
Previously, PwD candidates could bring their own writers (scribes) to exams.
Now, the SSC will provide the scribes.
This change follows new rules from the government's Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
This change applies to several SSC exams in 2025, like the Combined Graduate Level Exam.
The purpose of these changes is to follow updated rules and provide a more consistent approach to exam accommodations for PwD candidates.
SSC has eliminated the 'own scribe' option for PwD candidates in its examinations.
PwD candidates will now receive a scribe provided by the SSC.
The decision follows guidelines from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.
The change is applicable to multiple exams in 2025.
The notice regarding the change was published on September 3, 2025.
