Uzbek President Proposes Central Asian Regional Bloc
Imagine a group of countries in a region, like a big neighborhood.
The leader of one country, Uzbekistan, wants to make it easier for all the neighboring countries in Central Asia to work together.
He proposed creating a special club or team called the 'Community of Central Asia'.
This club would help them share more, like in business and staying safe.
It's a way for these countries, who used to be part of the same big country long ago, to become closer friends and partners.
They also decided to let another nearby country, Azerbaijan, join their regular meetings.
This is happening at a time when these countries are important to other big countries around the world.
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed forming a regional bloc named 'Community of Central Asia'.
The proposed bloc aims to boost economic, security, and environmental cooperation among Central Asian nations.
The initiative seeks to promote economic integration in a region of over 80 million people.
Azerbaijan has been added to the regular meetings of the five Central Asian republics.
This proposal comes as Central Asian nations, historically tied to Russia, are increasingly courted by the West and China.
