Shiprocket's Journey to Building India's Logistics Backbone
Saahil Goel started a company called Shiprocket.
At first, they helped people build websites.
But they found that in India, logistics (how things are delivered) is a big problem.
So, they changed their focus to help small businesses send their products to customers.
Now, Shiprocket helps about 200,000 businesses and delivers to many places in India, even small towns.
They want to make sure that when you buy something online, it arrives on time.
Saahil says it took them 14 years to figure this out, but now they are here to stay.
Shiprocket was initially a website-building company called CartRocket, founded by Saahil Goel in 2007.
The company pivoted to focus on logistics after realizing the critical role of shipping in e-commerce.
Shiprocket now supports around 200,000 businesses and processes ₹25,000–30,000 crore in GMV annually.
More than half of Shiprocket's deliveries go to tier-2 cities, reaching about 140 million consumers.
The company has filed its DRHP, indicating plans for an IPO, with a long-term focus on building logistics infrastructure.
