MUF Seeks Aid for All Hajis in Andhra Pradesh
The Muslim United Front (MUF) is asking the Andhra Pradesh government to give ₹1 lakh to every person from the state going on the Haj pilgrimage, no matter where they leave from.
Right now, the government only gives money to those leaving from one specific place.
The MUF says many people have applied to go, and they want everyone who qualifies to get help.
They also want the government to pay Imams and Muezzins (religious leaders) in all registered mosques, as some are not currently included in the payment program.
MUF president Md. Kaleem requested Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister for ₹1 lakh financial aid to all Haj pilgrims from the state.
The current state government policy provides financial assistance only to pilgrims departing from the Gannavaram embarkation point.
2,314 of 2,649 applications for Haj were qualified for the pilgrimage.
MUF wants financial aid for all pilgrims regardless of their departure location for the 2026 Haj season.
The MUF also requested inclusion of all registered mosques in the honorarium scheme for Imams and Muezzins.
