Goregaon Mulund Link Road First Phase
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is building a big new road called the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) in Mumbai.
This road will be 12.2 km long and will help people travel quickly between the western and eastern parts of the city.
The first part of this road, a flyover, will be ready by May 2026.
This flyover will have six lanes for cars and special paths for people to walk.
After the flyover, the BMC will build tunnels to make the road even faster.
The whole project will cost Rs 14,000 crore and should be finished by 2028.
Once it's done, traveling around Mumbai will be much easier.
The first phase of the Goregaon Mulund Link Road (GMLR) is set to be operational by May 2026.
The GMLR is a 12.2 km-long high-speed corridor that will connect Goregaon in the western suburbs to Mulund in the eastern suburbs.
The first phase includes a 1.2 km flyover with six vehicular lanes and walkways on both sides.
The flyover will provide direct access to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) and will later connect to underground tunnels.
The entire GMLR project is expected to be completed by 2028 at a cost of Rs 14,000 crore.
