Mother and paramour booked in alleged assault of minor

Police in Uppal rescued a 16-year-old girl after reports that she had been sexually assaulted.

Police allege that both her mother’s partner and possibly her mother were involved in the abuse.

They say the girl became pregnant and had an abortion three months ago.

The mother allegedly knew about the situation and took her to a hospital.

Police also allege that the abuse continued afterward.

Neighbours reported what they noticed to the police.

The two accused were detained and moved to a temporary shelter, according to the report.

The case was registered under a law that protects children from sexual offences.
