UP to Strengthen Drug Control: New Posts, Exams
The Uttar Pradesh government is working to ensure medicines are safe by improving how they check them.
The Chief Minister wants to create a new officer position in each district to oversee this.
They also plan to hire more inspectors and will use written tests to choose them fairly.
The goal is to make sure the state follows the same rules as the rest of the country and that the medicine checking system works well.
The government will also change rules for top-level jobs to make the system more organized and effective.
Uttar Pradesh will establish a 'District Drug Control Officer' in every district.
The number of Drug Inspectors will be doubled.
Recruitment for Drug Inspectors will change to written exams.
The Chief Minister reviewed proposals related to the Drug Control Cadre.
Changes include increasing Deputy Commissioner (Drugs) posts and amending Joint Commissioner (Drugs) promotion criteria.
