RBL Bank Q1 Update: Deposits and Advances Rise; Profit Falls
RBL Bank, a financial company, recently shared its financial results.
The bank has more money saved by customers than before.
They also lent out more money.
While lending went up, the bank's profit went down significantly.
This is partly because the bank made less money from the interest it charged on loans compared to last year.
Although profits are down, the bank's bad loans have decreased.
Investors reacted with optimism, as the bank's stock price slightly increased.
RBL Bank's total deposits increased by 11% year-on-year to ₹1.12 lakh crore.
Gross advances grew 9% year-on-year, reaching ₹96,704 crore.
Retail advances rose 7% year-on-year, while wholesale advances grew 13% year-on-year.
Net profit for the quarter fell 80% to ₹68.7 crore.
Gross NPA decreased to 2.6% from 2.92% in the December quarter.
