Heavy Snowfall Predicted in J&K
A weather expert named Sonam Lotus said that Jammu and Kashmir might get a lot of snow and rain from January 20 to January 24, 2026.
This is because of three big weather changes called Western Disturbances.
The first one is already happening and will bring a little snow.
The second one will bring some more snow, but not much in the flat areas.
The third one is expected to bring a lot of snow, even in the flat parts of the region.
People are happy because they haven't had any snow yet this season.
If they don't get enough snow, it might be hard to have enough water in the summer.
The weather is also changing in other parts of India, like the south, where it might rain a bit soon.
Three Western Disturbances expected to bring rain and snow to Jammu and Kashmir from January 16 to January 24, 2026.
First disturbance is currently active, bringing light snow to higher reaches.
Second disturbance (January 18-20) will bring light rain/snow, mostly in higher reaches.
Third disturbance (January 20-24) is expected to bring moderate to heavy snowfall in both higher reaches and plains.
Srinagar and other plain areas in the Valley have not yet received the season's first snowfall.
