India Considers Buying Advanced Russian S-500 Missile System
India is thinking about buying more advanced missile systems from Russia, either the S-400 or the newer S-500.
The S-400 performed well in a recent operation, intercepting aircraft.
India already has a deal for S-400 systems, and most have been delivered.
The S-500 is even more advanced and can hit targets like missiles and planes.
Russia has said India could be the first to buy the S-500.
These systems are designed to protect against different threats, including ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
They have a long range, able to track and destroy multiple targets simultaneously.
India is considering the purchase of additional S-400 or S-500 missile systems from Russia.
The S-400 performed well in Operation Sindoor, according to reports.
India has an existing contract for S-400 units, with final delivery expected by September 2026.
