The Directorate of Environment and Climate Change in Manipur has mapped over 1,000 springs in the state.

Out of these, 173 springs in Ukhrul and Noney districts are very important and will be revived first.

The department also mapped 71 wetlands, with 3 already notified and 4 being rejuvenated.

They released an environment calendar for 2026, which shows important environmental events and beautiful places in Manipur.

The calendar includes pictures of places like Dzuko Valley, the Barak river, and migratory birds.

The goal is to make sure people know about and take care of nature.
