IHCL Announces New Taj Hotel on Chennai's ECR
A hotel company called IHCL, which owns the Taj hotels, is building a new hotel in Chennai on a road called ECR.
This new hotel will have 151 rooms and be quite large, spread over 12 acres.
It will also have big spaces for parties and meetings, plus two special restaurants.
IHCL sees this as a smart move because many businesses, like car companies and tech firms, and tourists visit Chennai.
This will be one of many Taj hotels in the city, showing IHCL's commitment to the area.
They are working with another company, MGM Healthcare, to build this new hotel.
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel on East Coast Road (ECR) in Chennai.
This greenfield project is a collaboration with MGM Healthcare and will feature 151 rooms on 12 acres of land.
The hotel will include two large banquet venues (approx. 10,000 and 5,300 sq ft), meeting rooms, and two specialty restaurants.
IHCL considers the ECR location strategic to cater to Chennai's corporate, leisure, and MICE demand.
With this addition, IHCL will have 16 hotels in Chennai, with 6 more currently under development.
