A group of people who own real estate in Pakistan and another group bought these teams for a lot of money, about $12.75 million.

This makes the total number of teams in the PSL eight.

The new teams will start playing in 2026.

There was also a team called Multan Sultans that had some problems with its owner, so the people who run cricket in Pakistan are taking care of it for now.

The owner of Multan, Ali Tareen, said he might come back later.

Ali Tareen

Former owner of the Multan Sultans franchise in the Pakistan Super League

“If I come back to PSL, it has to be for the same reason. South Punjab is where my heart is. It is home. When the Multan team is being sold, we’ll be ready. Wishing all the bidders the best.”
