PSL Expands with Two New Teams
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is getting bigger!
They just added two new teams called Hyderabad and Sialkot.
A group of people who own real estate in Pakistan and another group bought these teams for a lot of money, about $12.75 million.
This makes the total number of teams in the PSL eight.
The new teams will start playing in 2026.
There was also a team called Multan Sultans that had some problems with its owner, so the people who run cricket in Pakistan are taking care of it for now.
The owner of Multan, Ali Tareen, said he might come back later.
This is a big step for the PSL, and it might change how the league works in the future.
PSL added two new teams (Hyderabad and Sialkot) for 2026, increasing total teams to eight.
OZ Developers bought the Sialkot franchise for $6.55 million, FSK Developers bought Hyderabad for $6.2 million.
PSL 2026 is scheduled to start on March 26.
Multan Sultans will be managed by the PCB due to ownership issues, to be auctioned after PSL 2026.
Ali Tareen, former Multan owner, withdrew from the auction but expressed interest in future participation.
