Mahindra Expands EV Portfolio with New SUV
Mahindra, a big car company, has launched a new electric SUV called XEV 9s, which is a seven-seater and costs between ₹19.9 lakh and ₹29.9 lakh.
They want to sell 7,000 electric vehicles every month by the end of this financial year.
Right now, they sell about 4,000 to 5,000 electric vehicles each month.
They also aim to have electric vehicles make up 20-25% of their SUV portfolio by 2027-28.
Mahindra is competing with other companies like Tata Motors and Kia to be the leader in the electric vehicle market in India.
They are also planning to sell their electric vehicles in other countries, starting with places that use right-hand drive cars.
The company is happy with how electric vehicles are being adopted in India and believes that a tax cut for regular cars won't hurt the prospects for electric vehicles.
