Pune Sons Allegedly Beat Elderly Parents Over Land Sale
An elderly couple in a Pune village was allegedly attacked by their two sons.
The attack happened while the couple was walking on a public road.
Police said the sons were angry about land belonging to their mother being sold.
The sons allegedly arrived in a car and stopped their parents.
They reportedly hit the couple with wooden sticks and demanded that the land deal be cancelled.
The father and mother suffered injuries in different parts of their bodies.
People nearby alerted the police, and the couple received medical care.
Police have registered a case and are investigating what happened.
Tukaram Kisan Raut, 65, and his wife, Anjana, were allegedly attacked on a village road on August 30.
Police said their sons, Sanjay Raut and Rajendra Raut, confronted them over the sale of land belonging to their mother.
The sons allegedly used wooden sticks, abused the couple and threatened to kill them unless the transaction was cancelled.
Tukaram reportedly suffered injuries to his back, face, thighs and left shoulder, while Anjana was injured on her wrist and waist.
Police registered a case based on Tukaram’s complaint, and the injured couple was taken to Indapur sub-district hospital.
