France Warns of Wider Hybrid Threats After Leipzig Drone Incident

A drone carrying explosives was found near an airplane at an airport in Germany.

The airplane was connected to transporting military supplies for Ukraine.

France’s top domestic security official said this could be a warning of more dangerous attacks.

She said important businesses and systems, such as energy and communications, might be targeted.

She also warned that cyberattacks and interference could affect elections.

Germany said it would identify who was behind the incident.

Russia denied taking part.

French military leaders said France needs more cheap drones and better ways to stop large numbers of them.

France’s defence industry said it was ready to help build more equipment.
